Every blogger wants to attract heaps of traffic, but nowadays this isn’t just a matter of ‘build it and they will come’ – it takes time, patience, dedication and consistency.

First step

Find a niche subject that you’re both interested in, and know a lot about. Don’t pick an area that you have no passion for – you’ll lose interest fast.

Second step

Once you’ve identified your niche, select the relevant keywords to target. You can do this using Google’s Keyword Tool.

Third step

Get a good hosting company (I recommend (GoDaddy), and a premium theme for your site

Fourth step

Once you’ve published something, share it across your social networks. Ask others to share it too. Respond to others, and encourage people to comment.

Fifth step

Reach out to influencers in your space. Offer to help them, flatter them, do whatever you can to get them to share your content. Don’t just ask, contribute something first.
