There are several ways to check if you are count as a spammy:
1. If your rankings suddenly dropped than you can assume your website affected by search engine penalty 2. There is another way to check spam is to check in Google SERP whether your website is removed from crawling or not, with following command " site: site name" 3. Check in Google Webmaster for any message or errors in by Google
