A 500 error is a fairly general error that means that something is wrong on the server-side. Even though it signals a server-side problem, you can sometimes get around an error by refreshing.

It's generally an internal sever error, meaning there's something wrong somewhere on server-side, and most of the time this can be a bug in a piece of code.

500 error is the situation where server can not be more specific about the error condition in its response to the client.
