The Copa América knockout stages begin on Wednesday with hosts Chile taking on Uruguay. The Copa América hasn't been much to write home about so far, though the start of the knockout stages on Wednesday will hopefully bring more excitement.

In the first quarterfinal, hosts Chile take on Uruguay, and Jorge Sampaoli's side will no doubt feel confident of living up to the expectations of the crowd. They roared to a 5-0 win over Bolivia in their final group game, and don't appear to have been distracted by the furor surrounding Arturo Vidal's arrest for a DUI offense earlier in the tournament.

Uruguay, meanwhile, only just sneaked through into the knockout stages by virtue of being one of the two best third-placed teams, and Óscar Tabárez's side haven't shown anything to suggest they're going to be able to defend the title they won four years ago. They're a very industrious team, but they don't have anything like the attacking ingenuity of Chile, and they're going to need to pull off a big upset to progress.
