One are about interlinking all your webpages together, the other is about backlinking your site.

Both internal and inbound links are important parts of SEO. However, they aren’t the same and it’s important to understand the difference between them. Internal links are located within your website and link from one page on your site to another on your site. For example, you might have a link to a “contact us” page on your homepage. That is considered an internal link. An inbound link, or external link, is a link located on another website that points to your web page. An example of an inbound link is an industry specific directory website that has a link to your company page.

Linking the different pages of your website strategically is called internal linking. It's the major aspect for On Page Optimization.

However, the backlinks you are creating for your website is known as inbound backlinking.

Internal linking nothing between adding the links to your website . An inbound link is a web page link on a third-party web site that points to a web page on your site
