As title mentioned, I would like to hear you SEO guys' opinions here about value of image links vs text links. Which is better? why?

Most SEO programs don't register image links as internal links because they are generally perceived to have less value than text links.

For SEO, text links generally hold more value than image links. Search engines can better understand the context of text links because they can directly read the anchor text, whereas image links rely on the alt attribute, which is often less descriptive or not well-optimized.
