Directory submission is done inorder to increase the backlink to the websites, in particularly One way link. It is considered as a base of the SEO, as it is one of the best way to list the URL of website throughout the web. It also helps in search engine ranking for any particular keyword. We can't expect visitors from them i.e. the directories which is meant for only link building purpose. Yes there are quality directory such as Yahoo directory and so on we can definitely expect some good visits and even business inquires from them.
